Belarusian Economy Ministry, World Bank discuss new projects
Belarusian Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi and World Bank Vice President Cyril Muller discussed the current level of cooperation and promising avenues of work on the World Bank’s new framework strategy for Belarus for 2018-2022, BelTA has learned.

The meeting took place in the city of Nusa Dua, Indonesia where annual meetings of the boards of governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group are scheduled to take place on 8-14 October. A Belarusian delegation is taking part in the meetings.

The press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA that the sides discussed the World Bank’s current investment portfolio in Belarus and the preparation of new projects in line with the framework strategy.

Cyril Muller was satisfied with the World Bank’s cooperation with Belarus. He mentioned the effectiveness of implementation of the projects, which are financed by the bank and are implemented in Belarus. Cyril Muller also mentioned that appropriations for new projects might be increased in the future.

In turn, Dmitry Krutoi noted that the projects, which are implemented with the World Bank’s financial assistance, meet Belarus’ social and economic development priorities and government programs. Dmitry Krutoi also confirmed the interest of the Belarusian side in increasing the World Bank’s investment portfolio in Belarus.
